The SPP Flight Park, also called the Cow Pasture is just that, a large cow pasture turned flight park. Formally known as Atlanta Paragliding Enterprises, the flight park is a great place to fly and learn to fly in any wind direction as long as the weather allows. Launching is done via static tow and on a good day you can release at roughly 1000ft above ground. On really good days you can literally fly for hours. The flight park is also a good place to learn how to paraglide. Our club has several USHPA instructors who are available on the weekends (and pre scheduled weekdays) to teach you the art of paragliding. Not sure if paragliding is for you? Try an introductory day or take a tandem ride with one of our tandem instructors. The flight park is also a good place to practice your first cross county attempts because of the many fields surrounding the area and the unrestricted airspace all around.
Launch
Launch is done via static tow and required a tow rating (TOW). If you do not have this rating you can acquire it for a small fee and as little as a half day of training.
Primary Landing Zone
The wonderful thing about the flight park is that the whole field is a landing zone, (as long as you don't mind walking) making it perfect for training, and new pilots who want to sharpen their skills.
Flight Park Guidelines
A complete listing of the Flight Park guidelines can be seen here.
The Flight Park is a great place to fly for pilots of any skill level. If you just want some air time, or practice your skills or take your first shot at cross country the Flight Park is the place to go.
