Anyone and everyone is invited, member or not, we are just getting together on a perfect repack surface to enjoy doing something together.
We have rented a basketball court which should afford us plenty of room. We will have 3 to 5 assisted packing lines and room for people to pack on their own.
The price if you wish to have assistance is $20.00
The price if you wish to do it yourself is $5.00
All monies are to offset the cost of renting the space.
Monies will be collected at the event (cash preferred).
Under this scheduled format we can promise, baring any unforeseen circumstances, that all participants will have plenty of time to repack their reserve.
YOU MUST RSVP by Wednseday March 15th to Hynek at
to reserve your spot. We need to know how many people will be attending and how many assisted stations we need to setup.
It may be a problem for some people to get to the location by 4:00pm. Tell Hynek when you RSVP and we will try to reserve time slots to better manage the assisted lines.
You will need to bring your harness, reserve, all bridals, AND the manual to your reserve and harness. If you don't have manuals go on-line and get them. Many reserves require special procedures that you need to be aware of. We will provide all normally required materials (rubber bands and pull cords).
It is usually suggested that you air out your reserve for 24hrs prior to repacking. This involves throwing your reserve and hanging it to allow the wrinkles to fully relax before repacking. Just before leaving, gently place it into a sheet or big pillow case or similar container, not a plastic bag because of static. If you don't have a good place to hang your reserve skip this procedure. It is much better to have a few wrinkles than damage your reserve. You might also consider taking several pictures as you remove it from your harness. They can be very helpful when it comes time to putting it back in.
Hope you will join us!
And now the legalize;
It is always up to the individual pilot to ensure that all their equipment
including their reserve is maintained in safe working order.
Assistance is provided by your friends free of charge and for your benefit.
SPP and the Assistants, in no way represent themselves as persons or entities
that can ensure your safety in flight including but not limited to the proper
packing of your reserve. The additional monies paid by assisted participants is
to fairly prorate the facility rental costs and not because of some assumed or implied
ability of the person(s) assisting you. This being an activity associated with Hang Gliding and/or Paragliding is
covered by the USHPA release of liability waiver .
